20-point plan to end Israel’s war on Gaza
President Trump revealed his new proposal for a truce in Gaza after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. Netanyahu agreed to the plan, but Hamas has not yet responded. Trump said Israel’s war against Hamas must continue if Hamas rejects his proposal.
The conflict in Gaza has deep historical roots, as a religious and ethnic struggle between Arabs and Israelis.
In 1967, the Arab League declared the three NO’s:
NO to peace with Israel
NO to the recognition of Israel
NO to negotiations with Israel
Trump’s 20-point plan contains a number of utopian ideas, but the United States’ efforts to establish dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians in order to reach agreement on a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous coexistence are unprecedented.
