Since the Enlightenment, encyclopedias have had political and ideological overtones. And they should be approached with a certain amount of suspicion even when they are used to verify the veracity of news.
Last but not least, parents are fighting back against propaganda and manipulation with the onslaught of nationalism, (somewhere disguised as patriotism), trampling on democratic and common human values and replacing them with religious dogmas is a trend in many countries. Parents’ claims, in this case, are not only to the media, but also to teachers and politicians. In Israel, parents’ committees are being set up considering how to wage this struggle for the minds of their children.
