Could a pinpoint targeted war on terrorism be a turning point in wars?

“Pinpoint” liquidations and drones caused a furore in 2024, but they also brought unprecedented anxiety about the future

Weeks ago, Israel and Hamas reached a truce agreement. Israel and ZAHAL announced the launch of Operation Wings of Freedom, which will organise the liberation of the surviving living hostages. The ceasefire took place the day before Trump’s inauguration, on 19.01.2025, at 11:15 local time. It should have started three hours earlier, but Israel postponed it because Hamas had not provided the names of the hostages they planned to release. The photos of liberated Israelis and Palestinians hugging their families were heartbreaking, the subsequent tragic pictures of starved, tortured, weakened people – shocking.

Let us hope the truce holds.

The story of this military conflict unfolded surrealistically – shells made of scrap metal from ships sunk in the sea. Narrow underground tunnels which provide access to the land of the enemy. A severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip – hunger, thirst, death and the never-ending bombs of the terrorists.
