Education should have only one goal – to build literate, educated, learned, literary, cultural and civilised people.
When education does not fulfill its main purpose and role, it is deceptive.
It confuses values, shakes beliefs, stimulates pseudo-expertise rather than profound, slow and difficult knowledge. It fails itself. It fails us!Let’s face it, so you know – you have to be able to read, listen, and see. Not just reading (or listening and watching), and not superficially, scanning, skimming, every tenth page. On retellings or summaries. You have to understand and find the meaning given to you by someone else, inside yourself. You have to retain this meaning, to enjoy it and to appreciate it. It is the internal reflection and self-reflection of knowledge which develops it. And after the words learned from one person, come those of another, and knowledge is not only passed down through generations, but develops.
