From ”VENI, VIDI, VICI” to ”VENI, VERMINI, VOMINI”
It snowed, the cars got stuck in it; the sun came out, the dams dried up – aha, a natural disaster. Global world crises, moral collisions – aha, “vanity of vanities”… Or maybe – a sign of “swish”, directing the eyes to certain ministries or a symbol of the amazingly wise policy of Bulgaria, as a result of which we have notions of East-West; left-right, important
and unimportant are totally confused?! Do you notice the attitude of Bulgarians towards the signs and symbols of statehood? Every American tends to beat the national flag in his yard, and there are so many musical interpretations on the national anthem that a music lover might find them his hobby. Have you ever heard a Native American whistle the national anthem? Or someone improvising on the clarinet over it? And when the tricolour was hung from someone’s window, until recently the TV immediately filmed it and broadcast it as sensational news… Why did the electorate resent for so long the natural desire of MPs to ride in Mercedes S-class? Heraldry gives us the answer; the answer lies in the heraldic sign on our national coat of arms…
