The story of Ventsi Totev, the creator of the innovative chair “Stoleto“, begins exactly with such an unexpected but fateful moment – a phone call during the difficult and uncertain year of 2021. A year that many remember as a time of crisis and trials for small and medium-sized businesses in Bulgaria, especially in the field of manufacturing.
At that time, Ventsi’s family business in Vratsa – a small furniture manufacturing company with over two decades of history – was going through some of its toughest months. Orders were declining, partners were delaying payments, and the feeling of uncertainty and anxiety was growing. For many days, the family discussed what to do next. Should they try to revive their old business model, despite the risks, or make a drastic change that could put them on a new path? Ventsi admits that in those days he had many sleepless nights, torn by anxiety, but also by the feeling that a moment was approaching for an important decision that would determine his future for years to come.
