AI as a Learning Navigator
Ivan Kostov, Prime Minister of Bulgaria between 1997-2001, sent a letter to Krasimir Valchev, Minister of Education, advising on the use of artificial intelligence as a learning navigator. Here we publish the full version of the letter in its original form, without abbreviations and editorial intervention.
“AI becomes a Learning Navigator (LN). It can construct personalised, methodologically sustainable and cognitively consistent interaction with the learner, and can create both the prerequisites for real intellectual development of the learner, as well as the capabilities of the learning navigator. AI can cultivate within the learner a long-term rationale, intellectual memory, and methodological loyalty. Such communication develops the learner’s abilities to maintain and develop a complex context, closely approaching the function of a cognitive partner capable of creating knowledge, rather than just a response generator“.
