Students, Professors, Deans and Rectors against Corruption in Serbia

Pump! A protest without political demands

The students have no political demands. They refuse to cooperate with opposition parties and have promoted no leaders. The decisions are taken by representatives of all faculties in the blockade. They distance themselves from any act of violence.

Their creativity is as impressive as it is infectious. They organised relay marches between cities where the Constitution is passed from hand to hand. The state-sponsored “students 2.0” movement (who are against the blockades and insist on studying) are ironically called “chachi” – due to a spelling error in their own password … Just one letter wrong, but the whole meaning crumbles. Chachi actually means nothing — just a spelling mistake in the Serbian word for student. Ironic? No – it’s indicative. On Google maps, the protesting students marked the campus of the “chacitas” next to the Presidency as “Chacilandia”.
