Trump is finally startled by the turn of events
As people go to church on Sunday, the miracle of war is upon their heads. The name of the city of Sumy, a medium-sized town in northern Ukraine with an area of about 145 km² and a population of about 250,000 inhabitants, went around the world on the holy Orthodox Christian holiday of Palm Sunday. The reason – a Russian missile attack, which has already killed more than 34 people. Among them two children. Over 117 others have been injured, including 15 children.
The two Russian ballistic missiles struck the center of the town of Sumi, near the Russian border, two days after U.S. envoy Steve Whitkoff met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg and despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for Moscow to end the war.
The attack was followed by an immediate reaction from Trump, who called Russia’s attack on the Ukrainian town of Sumy “horrible” and for the first time spoke condemningly, saying “they made a mistake”.
