The Un-Valentine: Celebrating the Absence of Love
This February 14th, the day love forgot to show up in its traditional guise, might be an opportunity. An opportunity to rewrite the narrative, to redefine what love means to us. An opportunity to celebrate the love that already exists in our lives, in its many forms. And an opportunity to give ourselves permission to simply be, without the pressure of manufactured romance.
So, if you find yourself on February 14th feeling a little less loved-up than the commercials suggest, take a deep breath. Look around you. Maybe love isn’t absent. Maybe it’s just waiting to be recognized, in the quiet moments, in the simple connections, in the space you create for yourself. Maybe, just maybe, the day love forgot to show up is the day we learned to find it within ourselves.
