The main function of the Public Inspectorate is to be a platform for signals, investigations and public pressure for justice and accountability
Our vision is for an active and engaged civil society capable of exercising real and effective power over public institutions. We believe that when state authorities are paralysed by dependencies, inertia and incompetence, and their control mechanisms are ineffective or cover up violations, it is time for citizens to regain their state. That is why we are creating a “Public Inspectorate” – our civic voice against any abuse of public power.
The essence of the initiative is to provide independent civil control. This means being the watchful eye of society that will monitor, expose and demand responsibility where the system has abdicated. We will remove outrages in power from anonymity by publishing investigations and inspections, and we will create a “Wall of Shame” with names and specific facts about magistrates, state and municipal officials who have abused power, have harmed the public interest, as well as public officials and institutions for which systematic monitoring of violations of the law has been established, such as the Supreme Judicial Council, the EIA and the Ministry of Interior.
