Much ado about everything
The first two years of Terziev’s1 administration were marked by constant scandals, discord, and ill-considered decisions. The city went from one crisis to another, each time with a seemingly positive PR effect for the mayor and serious negative consequences for the city itself. He did not review GERB’s long administration, thus directly rehabilitating Yordanka Fandakova.
The crises began with the ill-considered organization of traffic on Patriarch Evtimii Boulevard. This was followed by the scandal with public transport, whose strike led to three days of no service for Sofians. Doubts continue to surround the choice of Bogdana Panayotova as chief architect. Deputy Mayor Nikola Barbutov was arrested in a corruption investigation. Today, there is a crisis with the public procurement for garbage collection. The Krasno Selo and Lyulin districts were plunged into misery, served by volunteers, saboteurs, and Sofekostroy EAD. All this—for now.
